In the process, he brought back 40,000 Jews with him to Mesopotamia contrary to the belief that he enslaved them, in fact, he brought back the cream of the crop engineers, doctors, architects, musicians, poets, mason etc etc when Babylon fell to the Persian king Cyrus, he freed the Jews and told them you may go back to Jerusalem in peace and nothing to fear, his answer came by thanks but no thanks we’re just fine here in Mesopotamia and who can blame them, it was the center of the known universe, advanced cultivation technology, irrigation, open market for all skilled laborers and life was good so who can blame them, they stayed on till 1950-51, when 90% of their descendants left Iraq to Israel and the western world after 2500 years of relevant peace and prosperity. All Iraqi Jews ti this day yearn and are saddened for leaving !
